Senate spokesman Yemi Adaramodu on Friday criticized his colleague Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over a dispute regarding the seating arrangement in the Senate chamber.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), refused to sit in her designated seat on Thursday, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules, which protects members’ privileges.
As tensions escalated, Senate President Godswill Akpabio instructed Senate security to escort the female lawmaker out of the chamber, but the situation was de-escalated with the intervention of other lawmakers.

During an interview on Channels Television’s *Sunrise Daily*, Adaramodu emphasized that the Senate is meant for serious business, not for “content creation in entertainment.”
Representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Adaramodu also rejected Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims of being bullied.
“If she feels bullied or sidelined, as a first-time senator, she was appointed as chairman of three committees,” he said. “You are typically only allowed to chair one committee, but she is in charge of Foreign Affairs and NGOs.”
However, Adaramodu ruled out any disciplinary action against Akpoti-Uduaghan, stating that her colleagues from Kogi State, especially Senator Isah Jubril, had already apologized on her behalf.
He confirmed that the 10th Senate would not revisit the matter, as the Senate had accepted the apology.
“The Senate as a whole has already accepted that apology, so we are not going to revisit that,” Adaramodu concluded.
