The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has awarded new ranks to 19 Senior Police Officers in a ceremony attended by their families, friends, and well-wishers.
The event, held at the Goodluck Jonathan International Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters in Abuja, saw three Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 16 Commissioners of Police (CPs) being decorated with their new ranks.
The newly promoted AIGs are Garba Ahmed, Nemi Edwin Osigoboka Iwo, and Salman Garba Dogo.

Additionally, 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police were promoted to the rank of Commissioners of Police, including Cyriacus Enechukwu, Gombit Bangs, Rosemary Akpan, and Ayodele Adeyemi, among others.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the promotions in a statement on Thursday.
The ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including Prince Ma Sani-Omolori, former Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Nebeolisa Anako, former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission, and retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Valentine Ntomchukwu.
In his address to the newly promoted officers, Egbetokun commended their dedication and service to the nation, while highlighting the significant responsibilities that come with their elevated ranks.
