The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has expelled a TikTok student for assaulting a lecturer.
Victor Modebelu, the Acting Registrar of the University, made the announcement in an expulsion letter dated Thursday, February 13, 2025, addressed to the student, Chimamaka.
Modebelu explained that the Acting Vice-Chancellor had received a report from the Student Disciplinary Committee regarding the student’s assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theater and Film Studies.
The letter stated that Chimamaka was found guilty of serious misconduct and breaching the Students Disciplinary Regulations, specifically Regulation 4.
“As a result, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the Committee’s recommendation for your expulsion, and you are hereby expelled from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,” the letter concluded.
