The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
This announcement was made in a statement on Monday by the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani. Prior to this, Mr. Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports Authority.
Mr. Ani further highlighted that Mr. Jimoh, a native of Kwara, has held several key positions, such as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of Police for General Investigation.
Mr. Jimoh has also completed various professional training programs, including the Combat Operations Course at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and Weapons of Mass Destruction Counter-measure First Responder Training in the United States.
Other notable training programs include Social Construction and Management Reform in China, Executive Leadership Academy in Pudong, China, Maritime Rescue and Salvage for Developing Countries in China, and courses at the Maritime Academy in Ningbo, China.
Additionally, he has trained in Anti-Hijacking Techniques and Tactics for Developing Countries at Yunnan Police College in Kunming, China, and at the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
Mr. Jimoh has also been honored with the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, recognizing his outstanding contributions to public relations.
