On Tuesday, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, handed over 59 kidnapped victims to the Kaduna State Government, following their rescue by security agencies.
The group of rescued individuals consisted of 28 adult males, 24 adult males, and six children, who were freed from various locations across Kaduna State.
In his remarks, Ribadu highlighted that the rescue was part of joint operations carried out by all security forces under the direction of President Bola Tinubu, who had instructed the agencies to intensify their efforts to restore peace, security, and normalcy to the country.

“Once again today, we are seeing the return of those rescued from kidnappers,” Ribadu stated. “They are heading back to their homes.
This has been a recurring pattern. Thousands have been liberated thanks to the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, and we continue to restore peace, security, and freedom. This is an ongoing effort nationwide.”
He praised the security forces, particularly the 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, for their successful role in rescuing the victims and commended the Kaduna State Government for its cooperation in combating insecurity in the region.
Ribadu also thanked those working on the frontlines to ensure national safety, including the armed forces, intelligence community, and police. “We will continue our work, and it is only a matter of time before Nigeria becomes peaceful again,” he said.
Maj.-Gen. Gold Chibuisi, representing the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, assured that the military, in coordination with other security agencies, remains committed to ensuring peace and security throughout the country.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State, Sani Kila, who represented the state government, thanked the NSA for facilitating the return of the kidnapped victims and acknowledged President Tinubu’s prioritization of security.
He also praised Governor Uba Sani for his efforts in ensuring the safety of Kaduna State’s citizens.
Maj.-Gen. Adamu Laka, National Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC), explained that the rescued victims were freed from various locations in the state, some having been in captivity for over four months.
He thanked the security agencies for their efforts and noted that the rescue was made possible through intelligence gathered and the coordination with the 1st Division Nigerian Army.
“Some victims had been held for as long as four months, with the most recent captives having been in captivity for this duration.
Through intelligence, we worked closely with the 1st Division Nigerian Army to conduct operations in identified areas,” he said.
