Popular actress Halima Abubakar revealed that she reached out for help because she feared for her life and was exhausted from repeatedly asking the same people for assistance.
In an exclusive interview with *Saturday Beats*, she shared, “I knew things were getting serious. When I was in the village, I wondered if this was how it was going to end. What I’m going through hasn’t been easy. It drains your happiness and fills you with anger. But, you have to focus on the positive side of life and keep pushing forward. I believe this won’t last forever.”
She explained that she found the strength to go public with her struggles, saying, “I don’t know how, but I just had to do it. A closed mouth is a closed destiny, and I’m not ready to die. I didn’t want to ask the same people again. How would people know I need help if I don’t speak out? God has given me the strength to face things that others aren’t aware of.”
When asked how she has been managing the costs of her treatments and tests, she said, “Many people have been kind, and two of my friends have been especially supportive. Aside from that, it’s just been God, myself, and the help I’ve been receiving recently.”
Addressing the critics who claimed she was lying, she dismissed them, saying, “It’s just a few people from Nollywood. Don’t pay attention to them. I don’t care about that.”
She also offered advice to others in similar situations, urging them to trust themselves and care for their families, as they are the ones who truly wish them well.
