On Sunday, Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu would complete his eight-year term as Nigeria’s leader.
While attending a stakeholders’ meeting on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Phase 1 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Umahi stated that President Tinubu must be re-elected in the 2027 general elections through “the power of God.”
Umahi emphasized that a man with the courage to fulfill a dream that had been in the works for 45 years is the right person to see it through to completion.
He then urged everyone to vote for Tinubu in 2027, saying, “The President must be re-elected by the power of God. Those in support say ‘hi’.”
He praised Tinubu’s efforts for the South-East since he assumed office in 2023, stating that the region would back him in the upcoming elections.
Umahi noted that the current administration has initiated several federal projects in the South-East and across the country.
As a two-term governor of Ebonyi State, Umahi assured that the Igbos would strongly support Tinubu’s re-election, even predicting that the region would deliver 99 percent of its votes for the President in 2027.
“We have no reason to stop the work but every reason to do the right thing,” he said, referring to ongoing infrastructure projects in the region. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is going to have 99 percent of the votes from the South-East because he has been very kind to the people there. They will leave the South-West to give us 99.99% in 2027.”
